Open Access Policy
From its foundation (2011) to the present day, Revista de Comunicación y Salud has been an open access journal. All content is made freely and permanently available online, immediately upon publication, without embargo and without requiring users to register to read. Articles are published under an open licence that clearly states the terms of use, distribution and reuse. The journal is committed to the principles of open access and adheres to the Berlín Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities, reaffirming its commitment to the free dissemination of scientific knowledge.
In this way, Revista de Comunicación y Salud presents its open access statement in compliance with DOAJ’s definition of open access (Guide to Applying and What does DOAJ define as Open Access?).
From 2011 to 2022, the journal was published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), and since 2023 to the present, Revista de Comunicación y Salud has operated under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-4.0).
The authors retain the copyright and grant the journal a non-exclusive right of first publication of the accepted work. Therefore, the authors are free to:
Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material.
Under the following terms:
Attribution: Proper credit must be given to the original authors, a link to the license must be provided, and any changes made must be indicated. This attribution must be clear and may not suggest that the original authors or the journal endorse the use made of the material.
NonCommercial: The material may not be used for commercial purposes, meaning it cannot be included in activities that involve direct or indirect financial gain. Use is only permitted in academic, educational, research, or personal contexts that are not-for-profit.
No additional restrictions: No legal or technological measures may be applied that restrict others from doing anything the license permits. Anyone accessing the material must be able to use it under the same conditions established by the original license.
Statement on the Use of the Interoperability Protocol
The journal has incorporated the interoperability protocol. The OAI-PMH protocol (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting), for which you can access the URL: https://www.revistadecomunicacionysalud.es/index.php/rcys/oai, to search for your data record. OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative - Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) is a protocol used for the transmission of metadata on the Internet.
