Revista de Comunicación y Salud is currently edited by the Cátedra Extraordinaria de Comunicación y Salud UCM-Abbvie, an academic initiative directed by Dr. Ubaldo Cuesta, from the Department of Communication Theories and Analysis (TAC) of the Faculty of Information Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid.

Currently, the journal is jointly directed by Ubaldo Cuesta and Almudena Barrientos-Báez, professor and lecturer at the Faculty of Information Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid.

Editorial Board Selection Protocol

The composition of the editorial team of Revista de Comunicación y Salud is based on criteria of academic excellence, research trajectory, and a strong commitment to editorial ethics. The selection of its members is carried out through an open and transparent process that values institutional diversity, scientific productivity, and gender balance. This procedure aligns with editorial best practices regarding the participation and composition of editorial boards, and follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) concerning diversity and inclusion. Editorial positions have a maximum duration of five years, with the possibility of a single renewal, subject to an evaluation of performance and adherence to the ethical principles and academic rigor upheld by the journal.

Gender Balance and Internationalization in the Editorial Team
Revista de Comunicación y Salud maintains its commitment to gender equity in the composition of its editorial bodies, as well as to the internationalization of its members. Currently, the Editorial Team is composed of 43 individuals, of whom 47% identify as female and 53% as male (see Editorial Team Statistics). Additionally, 44% are affiliated with international institutions, while 56% are affiliated with Spanish institutions (see Editorial Team Statistics). These figures reflect the journal’s ongoing commitment to equitable representation and global outreach in its editorial management.
