Copyright notices

Revista de Comunicación y Salud (RCyS) establishes this Copyright Policy to ensure proper recognition of authorship, appropriate dissemination of published works, and transparency regarding copyright ownership and the conditions governing the use of its content.

Copyright Ownership

Since 2023, authors retain the copyright to their works and do not transfer ownership to Revista de Comunicación y Salud. By publishing in the journal, authors grant RCyS the non-exclusive right of first publication, together with the permissions necessary for the editing, publication, dissemination, distribution, indexing, preservation, and public availability of the article. This authorization does not entail a transfer of copyright ownership to the journal.

RCyS recognizes and respects authors’ moral rights at all times, including the right to be acknowledged as the authors of their works and the right to the integrity of those works, in accordance with applicable intellectual property legislation.

Publications Prior to 2023

Articles published up to and including 2022 may contain copyright notices identifying Revista de Comunicación y Salud as the copyright holder, in accordance with the editorial policy in force at the time of publication.

These notices form part of the journal’s historical record and do not affect the open-access status of the articles or the conditions governing their use and reuse under the Creative Commons license applicable to each publication.

Subsequent changes to the journal’s copyright policy do not apply retroactively.

Copyright and Licensing Terms

Copyright ownership and the license governing the use and reuse of an article are separate matters.

Content published by RCyS is subject to the Creative Commons license applicable to its publication period. That license determines the conditions under which third parties may share, distribute, reuse, or adapt the content. The journal’s licensing history and the specific conditions applicable to published articles are set out in the Open Access Policy of Revista de Comunicación y Salud.

Any reuse of published content must comply with the terms of the applicable license, including appropriate attribution of authorship and the original source and, where required, an indication of any modifications made.

Third-Party Materials

Authors are responsible for ensuring that any third-party material protected by intellectual property rights, including images, photographs, figures, tables, scales, instruments, or other content, has the necessary permissions for publication whenever such permission is required.

Where material included in an article is not covered by the Creative Commons license applicable to the publication as a whole or is subject to different terms of use, this must be clearly indicated alongside the relevant content.

Deposit and Reuse

The conditions governing the deposit, dissemination, and reuse of published works are set out specifically in the Repository and Reuse Policy of Revista de Comunicación y Salud.
